JOB TITLE: Manager of Partnerships

REPORTS TO: Regional Director of Partnerships and Events

 SUMMARY: The Manager of Partnerships oversees partnership development, engagement, and retention to ensure these efforts achieve optimal growth and success in alignment with the NDC’s strategic goals. This role works collaboratively with the supervisor and other team members to promote development for their market and/or project, which are tied to organizational needs.    

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Partner Strategy & Development
      • Develop and execute an annual corporate partner outreach strategy
      • Conduct prospecting research and outreach to new potential partner organizations to become involved in the Council on a national and local basis
      • Mange monthly outreach goals and maintain regular correspondences with corporate partners and prospects via email, phone and/or in-person meetings.
      • Utilize networking and relationship-building skills to recruit and retain corporate partners, cultivate key community connections, drive success, and achieve revenue and fundraising goals
      • Conduct active listening calls with partners to identify and explore engagement opportunities – such as partner level upgrades, consulting and training opportunities, event sponsorship and speaking engagements, etc.
      • Promote the NDC brand by advancing speaking opportunities for NDC
      • Strategically invite potential partner prospects to participate in events and meetings – as speakers, awardees, attendees – to promote partnership growth and engagement
      • Network and establish strategic relationships with key business leaders and organizations that expand the potential partner network, and help promote the NDC’s reputation within local communities
      • Remain up to date and connected with local communities to identify new potential partner organizations
      • Attend local/virtual events and meetings to solicit support and create awareness about the Council and its programs
      • Maintain important documents – such as Onboarding, Mid-Year Survey, End of Year Survey, Retail Value (ROI) documents, partnership pitch materials, benefit data, etc. – are up to date on all organizational databases for knowledge sharing and data collection purposes
      • Track partnership and event revenue progress
      • Work collaboratively with supervisor and other team members on one national strategy to achieve set goals for the team and this role
      • Facilitate introductions to NDC Leadership Team related to potential strategic partnerships on a national scale as they arise 
    • Partner Engagement & Retention
      • Touch base with partners within the specific market to deepen relationships for partner engagement and retention, and educate partners on additional resources, services, and opportunities to increase fundraising outcomes
      • Join market statewide and local chapter meetings for relationship building
      • Ensure partners receive timely communications re. upcoming events and partnership benefits to optimize partner engagement
      • Promote partner retention by providing exceptional customer service, catering to their needs, and addressing their issues and concerns in alignment with organizational processes and protocols
      • Analyze reasons for partnership satisfaction and turnover within the market and work to enhance partner retention efforts
      • Track partnership and event engagement progress, and provide hands-on assistance and guidance when goals are not being met
      • Leverage Partner Pulse Check Survey data to deepen relationships with partners’ fundraising opportunities and at-risk partners by responding to their feedback
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and 3+ years of management, fundraising, partnership, association management and/or event experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Travel required up to 30%
    • Occasionally required to arrive to event venues or meetings very early or late evening for set up or oversight purposes.
    • Occasionally required to lift items up to 30 lbs for events or meetings.
